The Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland
Touted as “The Home of Golf,” the Old Course at St. Andrews is said to be the world’s oldest golf course. This course was first played during the early 1400s until it was temporarily banned in 1457 by James II, who felt young men should spend more time practicing archery. In 1502, James IV, an avid golfer himself, reversed the ban, and the rest is history.

Located along the rugged southern Ireland cliff tops against a breathtaking seascape background and a maze of natural caves, below is the Old Head of Kinsale. This course comprises five par 3s, eight par 4s, and five par 5s with nine holes played along the cliff tops.
Cape Kidnappers Golf Course, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand
Located on the east coast of North Island, this dramatic par 71 course was designed by golf architect Tom Doak and completed in 2004. Play along the cliff tops 140 meters above sea level against a ridge-and-valley landscape. Stunning drops, deep ravines, crashing waves, rolling hilltops, and lush landscapes come together for an experience like no other.
Quivira Golf Club, Cabo San Lucas, Baja Mexico
Nestled in a secluded Cabo San Lucas beach, Quivira Los Cabos is renowned for its elegant architecture and tranquil scenery. All 18 holes boast a view of the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by desert, dunes, canyons, shorelines, rock formations, crashing waves, and cliffs.
Vidago Palace Hotel, Portugal
Throughout the 19th century, the thermal springs of Vidago were widely regarded as therapeutic and curative for their “radioactive” elements and sodium bicarbonates. In the early 20th century, King Carlos commissioned an architect to build the most luxurious hotel in the Iberian Peninsula. Today, Vidago Palace is home to a Championship 18-hole course split between Oura Valley and Centenary Park.
The Dunes at Shenzhou Peninsula: Wanning Hainan, China

It contains a 36-hole golf course stretching out entirely, a blend of Irish and Scottish. In addition to this excellent golf course, the Straits have an outstanding resort too.

Barnbougle Dune Golf Course: Tasmania, Australia
Located on the northeast coast of Tasmania, this 18-hole course has rugged terrain, and the holes are predominantly present in the coastal sand dunes.
This course is located near the seaside village of Bridport. It has absolutely stellar views and has been rated as the 16th best course in the world by Golf Digest.
